A note from the GM
Hello and thank you for visiting our site. My name is Mike McCann. I am the new General Manager at Vaden Nissan Savannah. I know you have many options on where to buy and service your Nissan and I can assure you it is my sincere desire for my staff and myself to provide you with Award-Winning service before, during and after the sell. First, let me tell you a little about myself. My family and I moved here recently from Joplin, Missouri. After a quick trip here, we fell in love with the city and surrounding area. We have visited many places and although we had a great time, we always looked forward to being back home. When we headed home in November from our trip here, we both discussed how Savannah was the first place we could see ourselves living other than the four-state area. Born and raised by my grandparents in Bakersfield, California; I have lived on the West coast, Mid-West and now love calling downtown Savannah my home. Married with 3 boys, our family has enjoyed getting to know the area and have not told the story of our move without explaining to people how “Southern Hospitality” is not something you just hear about, but that it truly exists. From people saying good morning at the local coffee shops, holding doors open for others to enter and the folks that stop in the evenings to say, “Hi” and introduce themselves as we sit on the front porch. We are reminded daily of the things that just make you feel at home. We have felt welcomed in every turn of the move.
Now a little about why I chose Vaden. On our trip out in the Fall, I interviewed at 3 dealerships. It only takes one trip to Vaden’s Support Center to know you are considering a company that really cares about its employees. Jane IS Savannah. She loves the area, the people, the culture, the business and, most importantly, has carried on her Father’s legacy of loving the employees. On our trips out, anytime I would tell someone where I was considering they would all respond the same, “Oh, that’s great. We just love Jane and Peter!” On job sites, I checked later the reviews for current and previous employees and nearly ALL were positive which in the car business is almost unheard of. And they again sounded a lot like the public’s opinion, “Jane is a great owner who cares about her employees.” This was very important to me as I was looking for a long-term venture with a dealer who understood my philosophies on Award Winning Customer Service and who would stand behind me on changing the culture of car buying. That was definitely what I found when I met Vaden. I’m sure Jane’s Father, Dan Vaden, is smiling down on her daily.
So, what does all this mean to you? How am I going to have a positive impact on the community and why would I take the time to write a monthly blog? I truly believe that the way of the future in this ever-so-fast-changing industry is all about transparency, trust and relationships. I intend to be a part of your community in youth organizations, local athletics, business events and many other areas. I plan to meet, learn and provide services to you and the people you care about. I am in a business where we provide you so much more than just a car. We provide you the ability to take your kids to and from school and get to the source that allows you to provide income for your family. Also, the means to visit relatives, attend a little league game or even just go visit that long-time friend. It’s one of the greatest responsibilities a company can have...to be trusted to lead you in the right direction during that time of purchase or servicing a vehicle. I do not take it for granted and promise you I will train those under our roof to learn the same values of Award-Winning Customer Service that mirrors Walt Disney Companies and many others that have fallen in his footsteps.
